Tool: The long tweezers used to hold cotton that have the ridges in the right spot and the perfect tip and the perfect pressure and are impervious to all solvents, muck and junk.

What famous work of art would you restore and how?
"Garden of Earthly Delights" by H. Bosch so I could enjoy every detail of this Renaissance "surrealism" and I would proceed veeerrrry carefully with a lot of photographs.
What precious personal item have you restored?
The Victorian doll house that my parents built 35 years ago and decorated in the traditional 1:1 scale, which was subsequently damaged and deteriorated while in storage for a number of years. Not to mention the number of "construction" projects, which were only half-done at the time it went into storage, that needed completion.
What is the oddest item you have restored?
The centerboard for my sailboat.

Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid. It is so well planned out with it's comprehensive collection that it's a walk through time.
If you could restore or conserve one famous work of art, what would it be and why and what would you do?
It breaks my heart when a cultural site is destroyed by war or conflict. The big Buddhas the Taliban destroyed might be first.
Name a precious item of your own that you have restored
Kenn worked on my Granparent's gilt compo framed mirror and did an amazing job considering it fell of the wall. You can't tell.
Oldest thing you have restored
The mirror - circa 1940s.

Anything from King Tut's tomb. I spent a lot of time studying the collection in high school when I wanted to become an archeologist. It would be fun to be doing some professional work on the collection after all my parents lamentations of "We're not sending you to college to dig in the dirt or paint. You'll starve!"
What precious personal item have you restored?
My grandfather's ship's clock.
What is the oddest thing you have restored?
My son's Lincoln logs.

The paintings in the Stroganoff collection have been sadly neglected due to lack of funds. I would give them a day at the spa.

A two-sided advertisement for B.T. Babbitts' Best Soap, copyright 1992, for my mom.
What is the oddest thing you have restored?
A life-sized figure made of pantyhose that a dog played with.

#6 Fashion Clock, otherwise known as an American Calendar Clock c. 1800s.
What is the oddest thing you have restored?
Automata bird cage and clock made by Jacque Droz circa 1790.

Kitty Hawk. The first plane is such a masterpiece for its era. I wouldn't do anything but preserve and study its simplicity and brilliance.

I'm working on a small box for a friend that her baby threw to the ground after pushing his crib across the room to get it!

Anything on display at the Hermitage Collection in St. Petersburg, Russia. I may need to learn a few more disciplines first though.
What precious personal item have you restored?
My father's Virginia Tech mug that he dropped.
What is the oddest item you have restored?
A small statue of a Chinese man. It appears to be filled with very old hair!
