Decorative Objects Conservator Position
Full time position available for an Objects Conservator with emphases in porcelain and wood. Responsibilities include examination, treatment, and documentation of a wide variety of artifacts. As a large, multifaceted company, we are known for superior workmanship and exacting standards, functioning in a unique, creative environment for quality restoration. Candidates should have a knowledge of varied artistic and conservational skills: 3-D problem solving, a strong sense for color, familiarity with woodshop machinery and tools, stains and refinishing processes, possibly some veneering, carving and/or turning. Experience is preferred, and/or a two-year apprenticeship may be required. A Bachelors degree is also favored, desirably in Art History or Studio Arts. Starting pay is based on experience. Accepting applicants until January 1, 2012.
