Cher L. Goodson
President — CEO — AIC Professional Associate
Cher Goodson is president and owner of Art Restorations, Inc. She has more than 45 years of experience as a senior conservator of painting and decorative objects and enjoys collaborating with her team of conservators. The company offers a wide variety of restoration services to private and corporate collections, historical institutions, and the general public. Cher is a Professional Associate with the American Institute for Conservation.
Originally from Pennsylvania, she received a BA in Art History and Studio Arts from in 1976 before embarking on a lengthy apprenticeship in painting conservation. While living overseas in the early ‘80s, Cher collaborated with the museum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to promote the preservation of the Nassif House, the original home of the Saudi royal library. In 1985, she returned to the United States and settled in Dallas where she joined the staff of Art Restorations, Inc. Following her leadership, the company blossomed to its current size of five different departments, each headed by skilled conservators. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Aesthetic Studies at the University of Texas at Dallas in 1990.
In addition to fine art conservation, her lifelong passions include painting, sailing, making miniatures, and her animals—especially the dogs.
Meet The Team
Michael Cogdell — Metals Conservator
Michael graduated with a double major in Metalsmiths and Sculpture from the University of North Texas. He has over 34 years of experience in metalsmithing and art conservation. His favorite tool is the riveting hammer and when asked what he likes about the job, he says, “I like repairing things.”
Eric Cross — woods conservator
Eric has over 27 years of experience in woodworking, conservation, restoration, and carpentry. His favorite tools are his own two hands and when asked about what he likes about the job, he says, “Every day is different, but familiar at the same time.”
Christina Lucas — paintings conservator
Christina has an MFA in Museum Studies and Art History from Stephan F. Austin and a BFA from Texas A&M Commerce in Studio Art: Painting and Art History. They have 5 years of experience as a museum curator and 3 years of experience in conservation. Tina’s favorite tool is a scalpel with #10 blade and enjoys the time they get to restore paintings, bringing them back to life.
Rachel J. Spotts — Objects Department Lead and Conservator
Rachel J. Spotts graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Chemistry and completed an internship in Books/Rare Archives from Ohio Wesleyan University. She also completed an internship in Preventative Care and Paper from the Harry Ransom Center as well as in Museum Studies and Preventative Care from the Umlauf Sculpture Garden in Austin, TX. She has over 4 years of experience in art conservation. Her favorite tool is a scalpel with a #9 blade and enjoys the flexibility of working in a studio setting, as well as being a good mentor to the new conservators as head of our Objects department.
Carly Cortez — Objects Conservator
Carly Cortez graduated from Texas A&M Commerce with Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art. She has over a year of experience in art conservation. Her favorite tool is a pair of tweezers for work on the finer details. Carly enjoys the technical process and transformative nature of art conservation. She enjoys that she is able to embrace her passion for a living.

Cori Robertson — Project Manager
Cori handles customer satisfaction, processing unquoted and quoted projects, and controls quality of work. She has a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies: Specializing in Art and Design management and over 5 years of professional management experience.
Jordan Yonkofski — Office Manager
Jordan handles in- and out-bound projects, customer service, marketing and social media, and project quotes. She has a BA in English from Oberlin College and over 2 years of professional management experience.
